Greetings Parents, Students, and Community Members,

Welcome to the inaugural school year at Briar Hills Elementary – Home of the Buffaloes!

I hope each of you enjoyed a restful and joyful summer, filled with moments that recharged your spirit. Whether you traveled, spent time with loved ones, or simply embraced a slower pace, I trust you are returning with renewed energy and excitement for the journey ahead.

As we open our doors for the very first time, we are not just launching a school—we are building a legacy. Our motto, “Charging with Excellence,” is more than a slogan. It’s a shared commitment to how we lead, teach, support, and grow together.

This year, we will lay the foundation for a school culture that is:

• Collaborative – where every voice matters and teamwork drives our success
• Coachable – where feedback is embraced as a tool for growth
• Accountable – where we hold ourselves and each other to high standards in service of our students

Our theme for the year is:

• “Blazing the Trail: Building the Buffalo Way.”

This theme reflects our shared journey of leadership, vision, and unity as we create a school community rooted in purpose and pride.

To anchor our vision, we’ve selected the inspiring book Nigel and the Moon by Antwan Eady. Nigel’s story reminds us of the power of dreams, identity, and community. Just like Nigel, our students—and we as educators—carry hopes that deserve to be seen, heard, and nurtured. At Briar Hills, we will create a space where every voice is valued and every dream is possible. We will be the community that helps each other dream out loud.
